IISD’s Global Subsidies Initiative has produced a wealth of information on energy subsidies and their impacts globally and in India.

A detailed report, Mapping India’s Energy Subsidies 2020: Fossil fuels, renewables and EVs, provides an analysis of these data and their implications for India’s energy sector ambitions.

The report is accompanied by an online data portal to help browse the subsidy data in detail and includes detailed spreadsheets and annexes for policy-makers and researchers. In creating this platform, IISD has collaborated with the Vasudha Foundation to promote data transparency on the energy sector in India.
