Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a motivated and skilled backend developer to develop and design new web applications, decision support tools, and web-based platforms for the climate and energy teams of Vasudha Foundation.
Responsibilities
- Write effective APIs, functional requirement documents, user guides, and integrate backend features and connect them to frontend applications.
- Conduct unit tests, troubleshoot, debug code, improve performance, create mockups, demos and prototypes that can be scaled up and replicated.
- Use GitHub for version control and participate in code reviews.
- Write and optimise SQL queries for efficient data handling and management of extensive data and complex databases of the energy and climate sector.
- Create robust server-side logic and structured APIs for seamless data exchange.
- Maintain, update and provide support to various web dashboards, including the Vasudha Foundation portal.
Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technology field with extensive experience in programming.
- 2-4 years of software development experience.
- Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby on Rails, and C#.
- Working knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Git/GitHub/Bitbucket for version control.
- Familiarity with at least one backend technology stack such as Java Spring Boot, MyBatis, Hibernate, Node.js, .NET, Django, FastAPI.
- Familiarity with cloud and operating infrastructure on platforms like AWS or GCP.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
