NITI Aayog and Vasudha Foundation released the India Climate Energy Dashboard (ICED) 3.0 on 20 July 2023, in New Delhi. ICED is the country’s one-stop platform for near real-time data on the energy sector, climate, and related economic datasets based on government-published sources. With the launch of ICED, India has taken a firm step toward data abundance.
This transformative initiative serves as an open data portal, aiming to leverage the power of information for driving informed decisions and devising effective strategies to combat climate and energy-related challenges. Emphasising user-friendliness as its core principle, the dashboard provides near real-time data across crucial domains, encompassing power, economy, climate, and more. Distinguishing itself from others, the ICED allows users to effortlessly download data in jpeg/xls format, enabling deeper examination and analysis.
Suman Berry, Vice Chairman NITI Aayog, inaugurated the ICED in the presence of Shri BVR Subrahmanyam, CEO of NITI Aayog, V.K Saraswat, Member, NITI Aayog, Rajnath Ram, Advisor NITI Aayog, Srinivas Krishnaswamy, CEO of Vasudha Foundation and Dr. Suneet Singh, HoD, Energy Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. The event was graced with the video messages of Tarun Kapoor, Advisor to Prime Minister and Amitabh Kant, the G20 Sherpa.
