JOB TITLE: MANAGER / SR OFFICER – ENERGY TRANSITION

Vasudha Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation working in the clean energy and climate policy space. Vasudha Foundation has an FCRA registration with the FCRA Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs and has 12A and 80G registration under the Income Tax Act. Vasudha Foundation works on multiple projects, funded by various philanthropic organisations.

The organisation is looking for full-time Energy Policy Manager/Sr. Officer. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing energy policies, decarbonization strategies, and net-zero planning initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to sustainable practices and drive positive environmental impact.

Purpose of the Role:

• Working knowledge of multiple analytical tools to undertake cost-benefit analysis, macro-economic analysis, forecasting, spatial analysis etc. are desirable
• Formulate and execute comprehensive decarbonisation strategies, identifying key areas for emission reduction and sustainable energy adoption.
• Research, analyse, and develop energy policies aligned with national and international standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Develop future scenario building for various aspects of the power and energy sector such as ‘energy supply and demand projection’ et al.
• Engage with government agencies, industry partners, and community stakeholders to build strategic alliances and promote the adoption of sustainable energy practices.
• Report preparation and helping the think tank in formulating policy suggestions to the relevant ministries.

Qualification and Experience:

• Minimum requirement: Masters in Economics/Public Policy/Environmental Sciences with at least 3-4 years’ experience in the energy/climate/sustainable development domain
• Candidate must have proven experience in developing and implementing energy policies and decarbonisation strategies.
• Candidate must have good analytical skills and data handling capability, Good analytical skills for conducting techno-economic analysis, and familiarity with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the energy and sustainability sectors.
• Outstanding English writing and speaking skills for clear and impactful communication.
