According to the NDC and net zero by 2070, deep electrification is increasingly seen as a priority area to achieve sustainable economic growth. Electrifying transport end use has been further supported by the Government of India’s ‘Go Electric’ and ‘Mission LiFE’ campaigns, highlighting India’s unwavering commitment to a low-carbon future.
The transport sector deep dive will address the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the aviation, shipping, and road transport sectors, which play a critical role in global transportation and trade. It will focus on the challenges and opportunities associated with abating emissions of these sectors and highlight innovative solutions and best practices for achieving net-zero emissions. The objective of the stakeholder meeting is to facilitate a collaborative brainstorming session and engage delegates in discussions about the opportunities and challenges associated with deep electrification in the transport sector.
The outcome of the meeting is intended to be a compilation of potential solutions and recommendations that can be utilized to advance policy discourse on abating emissions of the transport sector which is important for India’s sustainable growth.
