Vasudha Foundation is a not for profit organisation working in the clean energy and climate policy space. Vasudha Foundation has a FCRA registration with the FCRA Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs and also has as 12A and 80G registration under the income tax act.

Vasudha Foundation works on multiple projects, funded by various philanthropic organisations.

The organisation is looking for a full time/on role Energy Modeler – Senior/Middle Level.

Purpose of the Role:

• The role is to develop and deepen work in the energy and power sector space that include and not limit to research and analysis of policies and regulatory issues in the power and associated fuel sector.
• Work with the team in strengthening the existing energy/power sector models such as TIMES-ETSAP, Markal, MESSAGEix, CGEM etc. along with solvers
• To develop capacities in various mitigation aspects of climate change at national and sub-national level for Vasudha Foundation.
• Developing near-term, medium term and long term low-carbon/ Net Zero pathways, which will inform decision makers on various aspects such as costs, benefits, socio-economic factors etc.
• Develop future scenario building for various aspects of the power and energy sector such as and not limiting to “energy supply and demand projection” et al
• Any other assignment on power sector and energy that the senior management may deem is necessary for achieving organizational objectives.
• Report preparation and helping the think tank on formulating policy suggestions to the relevant ministries.

Networking/Meetings and Conferences:

• Represent organization in various external events and meetings, whether it is project related meetings, or other events in the power and energy sector space.
• Representation in field visits and Community Interactions.
• Develop relations with other energy and climate modelers practitioners in India and explore possibilities of collaboration with such experts.

Qualification and Experience:

• Middle /senior level modeler with ability to independently develop/use energy sector models for addressing various policy issues.
• PhD with at least 5 years’ experience in related area/activity in the energy/ climate/ domain
• Knowledge/application across multiple modeling techniques /frameworks preferred (energy system/system dynamics or other frameworks applied in the energy and climate policy space)
• Good analytical skills for conducting techno-economic analysis
