Manager – Digital Communications and Engagement

Location: New Delhi
Reports to: Associate Director – Communications and Strategic Outreach
Experience: 5-8 years

About the role

Vasudha Foundation works at the intersection of climate, energy, and sustainable development to support evidence-based decision-making in India, with a strong focus on national and sub-national policy processes.

We are looking for a young, dynamic, and analytically strong communicator to lead how the organisation’s research, data insights, and policy work travel across the digital ecosystem.

At its core, this role is about building and strengthening Vasudha’s digital outreach infrastructure into a high-quality, trusted space where policymakers, researchers, journalists, partners, and the broader climate community can easily discover credible insights that advance clean energy and climate solutions in India.

The Manager – Digital Communications and Engagement will lead the strategy, architecture, and performance of Vasudha’s digital presence, with the website as the central platform and social media as a key distribution channel. This includes strengthening information architecture, editorial quality, user experience, search visibility, analytics, and structured digital publishing workflows. The role also involves ensuring that the organisation’s research is discoverable not only through traditional search engines but also through emerging AI-driven knowledge systems.

A critical part of the role will be translating Vasudha’s analytical and data-driven work into compelling digital storytelling. While the organisation develops sophisticated dashboards and datasets, this role focuses on surfacing insights from them through explainers, visual summaries, blogs, and short analyses that make complex evidence accessible to wider audiences.

The objective is to ensure that Vasudha’s work is visible, accessible, discoverable, and widely referenced across the climate and energy ecosystem.

What you will do

Lead the Organisation’s Digital Platform (Website Ownership)

You will take full ownership of Vasudha Foundation’s website as the organisation’s primary digital outreach platform. This means treating it not as a static repository of reports, but as a dynamic knowledge space where research, data insights, and policy analysis are structured for clarity, accessibility, and influence. You will strengthen information architecture, refine editorial standards, improve UI/UX in collaboration with designers and developers, and ensure publishing workflows are efficient and consistent. You will build structured digital formats such as data explainers, research highlights, and insight articles that make complex climate and energy analysis easier to discover and use.

Drive search visibility and AI-era discoverability

You will lead the organisation’s search engine optimisation and digital discoverability strategy. This includes ensuring that reports, blogs, and research summaries are structured for strong search performance through metadata, internal linking, keyword alignment, and accessible formatting. You will analyse search trends and audience behaviour to refine content strategy and improve reach. You will also ensure that Vasudha’s digital content is structured in ways that enhance visibility across emerging AI-driven knowledge systems and large language model–based discovery tools, strengthening the organisation’s digital presence in the evolving information ecosystem.

Data Storytelling and Insight Translation

You will work closely with Manager Storytelling and Outreach, programme teams and researchers to surface insights from reports, dashboards, and datasets and translate them into accessible digital narratives. The focus on making their insights visible and understandable through blogs, visual summaries, short analyses, and insight-led digital formats. You will ensure that data storytelling maintains analytical rigour while remaining clear and engaging for policymakers, journalists, and informed public audiences.

Lead strategic social media engagement

You will design and execute a coherent social media strategy that strengthens Vasudha’s reach and visibility across platforms such as LinkedIn and X. Rather than routine posting, the focus will be on strategic amplification of research and policy insights. You will develop platform-specific approaches, create insight-led threads and explainers, design campaigns around major reports and policy moments, and amplify leadership and researcher voices. You will engage constructively in relevant sector conversations to position Vasudha as a credible and responsive voice in the climate and energy ecosystem.

Monitor digital performance and refine strategy

You will lead digital analytics and performance tracking across the website, blogs, newsletters, and social platforms. By analysing audience behaviour, engagement patterns, and search performance, you will identify which formats and themes generate meaningful uptake. You will develop periodic performance reports and recommend improvements to publishing workflows and distribution strategies. Insights from analytics will directly inform communication planning and future digital investments.
