Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled professional to join our team as Senior Policy Officer – Sustainable cooling and resilience specialist. This full-time role intends to support evidence-based research and policy analysis for advancing climate action, low carbon transition and climate resilient infrastructure at sub national and national level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative inter-disciplinary research and analysis on various aspects including renewable energy, building energy efficiency, energy efficient technologies, sustainable cooling strategies, urban heat island effect mitigation, and climate resilient infrastructure
- Identify climate-related vulnerabilities, assess decarbonization potential, conduct energy analysis, develop cooling/heat action plans, and strategies for a low-carbon energy transition
- Author/co-author policy briefs, blogs, technical reports, and journal papers documenting research and analysis
- Actively participate in team meetings and stakeholder discussions to present findings of the analysis
- Undertake other tasks or assignments as assigned by the manager/senior management.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Postgraduate degree in Energy, City Planning, Urban Development, Environmental Science, Public Policy from a reputed institution
- 3–5 years of technical experience in energy efficiency, building decarbonisation, climate resilience, urban planning with proven analytical skills
- Hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas: urban energy systems and clean energy transition; climate-resilient buildings/infrastructure and building decarbonisation; climate change adaptation and resilience planning
- Prior experience in developing cooling/heat action plan, urban cooling and climate resilience strategies is a plus
- Strong knowledge of climate resilience frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, vulnerability analysis, building energy codes, energy efficiency policies, cooling technologies, and disaster management plans is preferable
- Proficiency in working with large datasets, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English
- Strong ability to work in a collaborative team environment
