Tamil Nadu’s Path to a Climate Smart Future
Tamil Nadu is showing how local leadership, powered by data and community action, can turn climate challenge into opportunity. What once tested the state’s resilience now fuels innovation. In collaboration with the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Tamil Nadu and Vasudha Foundation, we’re helping districts turn data into direction and ambition into action.
Localising Climate Action
Under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is advancing rapidly in climate action through initiatives at various governance levels. A key initiative includes developing action plans for 43 Climate Smart Gram Panchayats, identified through a multi-criteria assessment in highly vulnerable districts.
Equitable and Inclusive Energy Transition
Vasudha Foundation, with support from the India Climate Collaborative, is working to mainstream the discourse on equitable and inclusive energy transitions in India, aiming to build a collective understanding of the Just Transition Landscape in India. As part of this initiative, Vasudha Foundation is developing a series of knowledge products to explore various themes around to the energy transition.
India’s Power Outlook Series
The Power Outlook Series developed by Vasudha Foundation provides an overview of the current status of India’s power sector with a focus on significant and emerging developments. The outlook series aims to develop a more informed understanding of the power sector and act as a tracking tool for stakeholders.

Tamil Nadu Climate Action Tracker

Developed by the Department of Environment and Climate Change, Government of Tamil Nadu in collaboration with Vasudha Foundation, the Tamil Nadu Climate Action Tracker brings together district-level greenhouse gas inventories, sectoral decarbonisation pathways, climate trends, and vulnerability insights in one integrated platform.
Gujarat Climate Action Tracker

Developed by Vasudha Foundation in collaboration with the Department of Climate Change, Government of Gujarat, and the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA), is a pioneering initiative designed to strengthen bottom-up climate and energy transition planning across the state. With this launch, Gujarat becomes the first state in India to feature district-level GHG inventories, climate variability data, and future climate projections.
Kerala GHG Portal

A joint initiative between the Directorate of Environment and Climate Change (DoECC), Government of Kerala and Vasudha Foundation. The portal houses an year-on-year inventory of the state’s anthropogenic GHG emissions/removals accounting for CO2, CH4 and N2O gases. The portal aims to actively track GHG emissions/removals across sectors in the state to support its climate action and carbon-neutral pathways, in alignment with the NDCs.
India Climate & Energy Dashboard

NITI Aayog’s flagship initiative developed in association with Vasudha Foundation. It is a user-friendly platform that aims to bring together comprehensive and time series data from 2005 onwards to provide single window access for all datasets required for climate and energy-related modelling assessments and research.
GHG Platform India

A collective civil-society initiative which provides an independent estimation and analysis of India’s GHG emissions across key sectors such as Energy, Industry, Agriculture, Forest and Other Land Use (AFOLU) and, Waste sectors.
Energy Transition Platform

Aims to bring together a cohort of sustainable energy practitioners across the countries in South Asia. ETP is a multi-country platform that brings together energy practitioners and select CSOs working in the energy domains for the South Asian countries.
UP Solar Cities Portal

Supported by the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) and Vasudha Foundation, serves as a valuable platform for residents in solar cities. Its primary objective is to enable residents to assess the feasibility of installing grid-connected solar systems on their rooftops. This user-friendly portal offers various features to assist residents in making informed decisions.
